frustrated commenter

Well since I’ve wrapped up my week of ‘tweet posts’ now I can get back to my long winded rantings and observations. Thank god, that was hard! So is anyone else out there having trouble commenting on blogs? It seems to be primarily WordPress blogs but includes a smattering of others too. There are things I want to say to you inspired gardeners out there, but when I go to post my comment *poof* it disappears! One blog even goes so far as to tell me that it thinks my comment is spam, talk about insulting! If I try to re-comment I get the message “oops! It looks like you’ve already said that” duh! I know I have…but where did it go?

I’ve researched this and the only helpful hint I could find was that perhaps somehow ‘danger garden’ ended up marked as adult content. Nope. I looked into my settings and not the case. So what’s going on? Anyone have any ideas?

Oh and if you haven’t heard from me (Nestmaker, Lost in the Landscape, Rancho Reubidoux, Far Out Flora, Gardening Gone Wild, and whatsitgarden, just to name 6), it’s not that I don’t love you, I do! I’m just being censored by the internet.

  1. Weird. We always have to approve your comments, and thought it was odd.

  2. I'm having the same problem with Nest Maker myself. It hasn't gone so far as to call my comments spam, but my comments disappear and if I try again on the same post, it tells me I've already said that. Grrr - it IS frustrating! I wonder what gives?

Hi Loree, This is strange. I know I run the risk of revealing my ignorance here but are you using the current release on your browser? I was having a lot of problems when using an older version of Firefox. Once I installed the latest version things have gone much smoother. Just a thought....

Happy SUNNY weekend. Love that photo!

  4. Thanks for letting me know there's a problem--I miss your great comments! I wonder if it's the latest version of the WP software or some such. I'll be sure to upgrade as soon as I see that a version is available. I'm definitely not blocking you as a spammer--That would be so cold!

  5. Ah! Problem identified, if not solved. The latest version of the Akismet spam blocker software I use--which has undergone an update--had plopped your comments into the spam folder. Talk about rude. I've rescued them and they should be on my site.

  6. Weird. I have no advise. I'm not tech savvy.

  7. Megan, interesting. Really it's just me? Thank you for approving my comments!

MuchMaid, well I guess it's good to know it's not just me.

Grace, not an ignorant comment at all! But yes, I am running 'the latest' although it is IE, which I am learning is more of a pain in the ass than it should be! Yea for the sun!

    Darla, exactly!

James, would I be out of line to say that you are a doll? Seriously, thank you. I never dreamt that the problem was on the other end. I thought it was something I was doing (or not doing). Thank you.

    Laura, me either!

  8. So sad about the comments... and I'm glad you are back to full length posts! I missed your verbosity.

  9. Loree, I noticed that your comments were in the spam folder and wondered if you'd changed your email address or something... anyway, I thought that was bizarre, since you were a previously approved and favored comment-provider on Rancho Reubidoux. I approved you again, and now all seems fine, happily. I had wondered where you'd gone off to, sorry it took me so long to notice your unwanted trip to Spamland and this post. Reuben
