These three vignettes were torn from the pages of an upscale home and garden magazine. Of course the fabulous wall color, crazy furniture and that rug (!) are what first caught my eye. Then I noticed the Bromeliads. Which are still in their black plastic nursery pots! The one on the left is even sporting a nice ring of mineral deposits around the bottom of the pot, as though it had been sitting in a saucer before being placed on the stylish table, in the stylish room.
Here the offending pots aren't just black but also that brown "terracotta" color. Why!? The plants don't look like an afterthought, why aren't they shown in a beautiful container that belongs in this room?
More plastic, more mineral deposits. Is it just me or is there an extreme styling disconnect going on here?
