Wednesday Vignette — sky turtle!
I do love when the simple answer is also a decorative one. Instead of just lashing these rebar poles together a turtle trivet and coil of wire do the job and add a touch of fun.
The rebar, stuffed into the sides of a large stock tank, is helping to support and contain a past-its-prime plant on a hellstrip, here in Portland.
Things get a little clunky there in the middle, with the wood and plastic mesh.
But overall an elegant October vignette...

Brilliant! SO much better than plain old function. Love the graceful curves of the rebar, too.
ReplyDeleteVery clever! It amazes me what people have on hand. I think I'm too quick to toss things out. My husband isn't so perhaps I need to rummage through his collection of stuff next time I need a whatnot.
ReplyDeleteOr you could just make a trip to the thrift store?
DeleteNifty finial for a fun support.
ReplyDeleteThe flying turtle does a good job of diverting attention from the less creative activity below.
ReplyDeleteAll kneel before Sky Turtle! No? Just me? Oh...
ReplyDeleteFor some reason, your title really made me laugh. I didn't know what to expect before I saw the picture. A very clever and decorative way to hold that support together.
And that's exactly what I intended, laughter.
DeleteThat's a brilliant use for a trivet.
ReplyDeleteWhat Alison said--brilliant use of trivet.
ReplyDeleteWhat's awesome at the top, uninspired in the middle, and nifty on the bottom? This planter.
