Cutting back around to park my car and snap the photos shared in Monday's blog post (here) I discovered this pumpkin pile...
Assorted gourds and pumpkins all the way up to the front door!
Pretty fun don't you think?
I wonder if any are stolen over the weeks they're on display? (hope not, but you know..."people"...)
This autumn vignette (with sunshine!) is my contribution to Anna's weekly meme. View everyone's vignettes at Flutter & Hum.

I love displays of pumpkins and gourds! This one is spectacular!
ReplyDeleteI can see something similar on your front steps!
DeleteLooks great! I'm certain some get stolen. I'd be surprised if some didn't get smashed too.
ReplyDeleteBTW, am I the only one that read "Pumkin Pie" instead of "Pumpkin Pile"?
You may have "pie" on the mind a little more than the average Joe...
DeleteWow - wonder what their front yard looks like for Christmas...? Anyway, great, sunny fall scene that serves as a reminder that Halloween is likely to bite my tardy ass yet again, this year. I'm so behind - I haven't even moved my houseplants in, the poor dears...
ReplyDeleteOh...now you've got me wondering. I'll try to remember to do a drive-by in December.
DeleteWow, that is a lot of money on display there. Imagine toting all those from car to steps and into the vehicle from the pumpkin source. Just read the NY Times article today about the woman who grows most of the US pumpkins. She wants people to eat them and not just toss tham Nov. 1.
ReplyDeleteI saw that article...didn't have time to read it.
DeleteIt's a nice display. At my house, though, any pumpkins left outside are soon tunneled through my the resident squirrels.
ReplyDeleteThey snacked on one of mine last year, little buggers.
DeleteNot only stolen, but probably smashed and vandalized. I'd like to think not, but I don't trust my fellow humans. That is a fabulous display!
ReplyDeleteIt does seem awfully tempting...
DeleteAfter one of the jobs I worked last fall, I wonder if they payed someone just to pile a bunch of pumpkins artfully along their steps. Or did they actually buy the pumpkins and set them out themselves? I'll never know, but it makes me laugh just a little.
ReplyDeleteGood point...but still enjoyable to those of us that pass by.
DeleteI love it when people really get into outdoor displays. This is an especially tasty one...unlike most of the kitsch that comes with Halloween (which I also love, just in a different way).
