This my friends is what happens when you place a concrete block on the top of a container full of dormant Ligularia dentata 'Othello' and then forget about it. Until March 29th, when you remove the concrete and then kick yourself.
Damn, poor thing.

Oops. It'll perk right up.
ReplyDeletePoor desperate plant! I'm sure you can cut back the worst etiolated stems and it will be fine. Is it really that pink? I know that's not your favorite color.
ReplyDeleteYep, it really is that pink!
DeleteI am glad you found it before it was too late.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry, but your post made me laugh. That kind of elated relief laughter, because it made me realize I'm not the only one who does stuff like that... I'm sure it will feel like a person spending a day in shoes too small will feel when they finally are able to kick them off. I think Peter is right - it'll be quick in rewarding your kindness!
ReplyDeleteIt is already looking better. Fingers crossed.
DeleteReminds me of that Susan Hayward movie 'I Want to Live'.
ReplyDeletePoor thing. I'm surprised it looks that good!
ReplyDeleteNow a little TLC to make up for it. Keep us posted.
ReplyDeleteNot too late, reckon it will recover nicely!
ReplyDeleteIt looks so cool and strange. Will you cut it back?
ReplyDeleteNo, I've decided to see what it does like this, could be cool!
DeleteBaby tentacle monster! Wow, it's a good thing you uncovered it before it grew up and rampaged through Portland! Now it can turn back into a plant.
ReplyDeleteWhoops! It will recover, don't you think?
ReplyDeleteI think it needs a pet name - it looks so determined to grow and yet quirky. Squid?
