I spotted this sweet and spiky vignette at Cistus Nursery...
I do love an unexpected combination.

I like this too -- unexpected but it works, they both don't mind dry conditions. Although the Cyclamen will disappear by summer, I think.
ReplyDeleteYa I imagine that's why I've never noticed it before (because the Cyclamen disappears).
DeleteUnexpected, for sure. For a large part of the year the opuntia gets the stage all to itself. It would be a different vignette altogether when the cyclamen is in bloom, before the leafs come out.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to have to try and catch that Vignette next year!
Deletei can imagine these two plants having a heated discussion about whose space is being invaded!
ReplyDeleteThe one with the spikes wins, of course.
DeleteWhat a fun combination. Do you suppose it was planned or happened by accident?
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking planned.
DeleteNow that's an odd combination! The foliage is the best part of Cyclamen in my view.
ReplyDeleteIt's the only reason to grow it, in my view!
DeleteChavliness and Alison both have good points. I agree with Kris - the foliage is the best part of those little cyclamen, but dang if those leaves aren't reason enough to invest in some!
ReplyDeleteAnna, honey the cold medicine is getting to you! Foliage = leaves
DeleteThat's special. They do seem like odd companions, but I like them.
ReplyDeleteMe too. I want to transplant it to my garden, just like this.
DeleteIt's past time I made a visit to Cistus.
