So I found four images to share, each of them representing a season of the year gone by. Winter is represented by a shot I took with my phone while stuck in traffic, looking across the Willamette River towards downtown Portland. The blue sky, fog, and sunshine combined to make a magical moment.
Weather Diary, Dec 25: Hi 33, Low 28/ Precip .15" of ice — the ground and plants are covered with ice, a little snow, and more ice...and have been since Sunday afternoon..

Beautiful! And you got some snow yesterday?
ReplyDeleteA little snow on Sunday afternoon. After there was ice that morning. And more ice that night. You know what snow between ice becomes? More ice. And it's still there. And holding temperatures down. So it will probably still be there tomorrow. I am tired of living in the ice capitol of the PNW.
DeleteBeautiful picture and a great idea about a vignette week!
ReplyDeleteThank you Peter!
DeleteVignette week is a wonderful idea. Taking time off is a great idea too, you deserve a bit of a break as one of the hardest working garden bloggers out there!
ReplyDeleteAh Thanks Tamara...this slower week definitely feels like a vacation.
DeleteOh, that's a great idea. And a wonderful picture! Thanks for sharing both, and your daily tenacity!
ReplyDeleteThanks Renee!
DeleteI am truly impressed by how you've managed to keep such a multitude of blog entries so interesting!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment Carol.
DeleteThat's a wonderful skyline photo. Who knew that getting stuck in traffic could have an upside?! I'm sorry about the ice, Loree. I hope you get a warm-up soon.
ReplyDeleteThe low of 23 yesterday morning, combined with below freezing temps and ice for 3 days now is just heartbreaking.
DeleteThat is a lot of posts. I love your photo here. Magical indeed.
ReplyDeleteThanks Lisa!
DeleteWhat a great idea vignette week is. That's a nice shot, a very ethereal combination.
ReplyDeletePure luck, but it makes me happy.
DeleteVignettes is a good idea for this week. We hosted the family Xmas on Sun, tomorrow is a baby shower, and NY's Day our annual brunch for 20 or 30 people, so I am doing the bare minimum this week.
ReplyDeleteLife is busy this time of year!
DeleteThat is a beautiful picture of Portland!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
Delete2,344 posts. Hard to get my head around this number, and your dedication is applauded. You deserve more then a week off, but selfishly I'm glad you aren't taking it. This is a beautiful winter scene.
ReplyDeleteIt's a lot of words that's for sure! Thanks for reading and commenting so faithfully.
DeleteFive days a week for THAT LONG???? Wow, I am in awe... By comparison, I can barely manage once a week. But, I do love the idea of Vignette Week. So, since I've missed half of the four days, maybe I'll just do an all-season post in one fell swoop. Is that even allowed?
ReplyDelete"Wow" on all the posts Ms. Danger, and I'm grateful that was you and not me doing that. On the seasonal vignettes, I wish I could join in!
ReplyDeleteSending out virtual darts of our burning sun as your xmas present...
