At first I thought the squirrels (or birds?) had been busy.
Then I realized there was an artistic flair at work here.
I couldn’t help but feel a little like I was at
The Fair and these blooms were waiting for their purple, blue, red and yellow ribbons.
When I walked by the next day (sadly without my camera) they had been stripped of almost every seed.
If I had a ribbon I would have awarded this one first place.
Those newer shaggy sunflowers are almost like giant marigolds. How nice that someone left them out for the birds: I guess they judged them "edible"!
ReplyDeleteWho left them? A runaway child? A man grieving for his wife? What whim or delay made it happen?
ReplyDeleteI love mysteries.
I've never seen this type of sunflower before ... they look like balls of flame and I love the decayed, ripped up ones so much ....
ReplyDeleteMulchMaid, almost like marigolds...but better!
ReplyDeleteHoover, I like the way you think.
Reubix, glad you enjoyed...I can see them growing in your most excellent landscape! (and then you could paint them too!)
