While looking for something else nearby, I happened upon this agave feature wall...
For a time I worked in marketing at an architecture and interior design firm and I remember the feature wall being a thing. Usually it was just a wall spec'd to be a paint color different than the other three. I like this version better—done in service to making the agave stand out...
And what is that agave you may be wondering? I believe it's an Agave parryi of some type, I'm just not sure which one.

I like the dramatic wall and how it breaks the monotony of the barrier. It would look even more striking in the few years, when the agave beefs up.
ReplyDeleteYep, I definitely need to watch this one grow.
DeleteWow ! Lucky Agave ! It will be enjoying the heat bouncing off from that fence .
ReplyDeleteFor sure, a nice dark color and between two cement planters, even south facing!
DeleteI think they need a larger agave, maybe an ovatifolia.
ReplyDeleteWow, you're tough!
DeleteLooking at these photos, I was thinking, why not plant an Agave ovatifolia? Kris had the same thought, LOL.
ReplyDeleteYou two! Ha. Agave ovatifolia can be few and far between up here, and expensive too. I thought they made a nice choice.
DeleteI would worry that the agave is growing too close to the fence panel if it gets much bigger. But then again, maybe it's a smaller variety..?
ReplyDeleteThat and it will lean out towards the light.
