Wednesday Vignette, bougainvillea

Sure it was in a greenhouse, but anytime you run across blooming bougainvillea in Oregon, in November, well...you have to stop and stare. This beauty was at the Potted Elephant. Full photo documentation of my visit tomorrow.

  1. Oh, that must have been a nice surprise to see. I follow them on Instagram and I've been very curious about their Open Houses. It's a long drive for me, but maybe some day.

    1. The open houses are great fun to look around, but only a small percentage of their stock is available to purchase.

  2. Anything blooming at this time of year is most welcome. Love the name of the garden center.

  3. It looks better than the one we have growing in a too-shady corner of the house!

    1. The one I tucked into my greenhouse isn't doing anything...this one was amazing.

  4. A plant with this much color this time of year is a joy.

  5. Love those bright and colorful bracts. Didn't get one last year, but I think I need to try that again, next year, even if just for the summer. Had a friend who always tried overwintering them on a south-facing wall here in Portland. She eventually gave up and moved back to California.
