Last year's holiday creations, at Wells Medina Nursery

While in Seattle for the NWFG Festival last February, I made a stop at Wells Medina nursery. It was fairly empty, but there were still a few holiday creations hanging around. I snapped some photos and have been hanging on to them until now. Maybe they'll inspire you to try something different this holiday season?

I'm pretty much in love with this, if only I had a great way to hang it without punching a hole in our ceiling.

Of course I could make a moss and conifer gnome instead.

I would love to know how there came to be edgeworthia buds stuck in the moss...

These look like fun too...

But the odd cone/funnel/tree is my favorite.

Sorry Mr. Gnome.

  1. That funnel tree is you! If only Andrew could figure out how to hang it.

    1. And he's very against holes in the ceiling, so that could be tricky!

  2. These are all such fun, creative, and different decorations. Maybe someone accidentally knocked the Edgeworthia buds off and decided to stick them into the moss? I rather like the mossy hanging spirals. I don't do holiday decorations any more (I used to), but I'm glad you hung onto these photos to share them this season.

  3. Lots of fun. I like holiday gnomes and have seen them done several ways. Good way to start getting into the holiday season.

  6. You had me thinking of an upside-down tree in lieu of the dining room chandelier but then I thought: sap drips! For the record, my husband would throw a fit. No Christmas tree would be his choice but I gave up tinsel for him years ago and that's as far as I'll go.

    1. They definitely have a chandelier vibe to them. And good for you...no Christmas tree would be so sad!

  7. The local old hippy restaurant hangs their tree upside down from the ceiling every year. A permanent big hook embedded in a ceiling beam carries the load.

I like how the green globes hang down below the Wells Medina version.
