Imagine you’re about 1/4 of an inch tall…how crazy this world would be? If you’re regular adult human height this is what you see. I couple of other magical moss wonderlands… Those same two, from above… And another just from above. I love moss!
So cute! Sometimes I wish the climate was just a tad cooler here, just enough to be able to grow moss... You are tempting me to go make some fairy doodles lady ;)
These are great photos of a little world within a world.
BTW, I really like your Adams Family colors. Our first house was two shades of brown and red. Unfortunately the current house came with white stucco and a propensity for flaking, so we keep to white, but the door is red-red.
I can't get enough of moss. We have a couple patches in our shady side that I keep transplanting to the bonsai pots. I love the look. Yours are adorable.
I love it too! In fact in one of my sculpture classes I made a Naturescope which is a tube of welded, perforated steel with a moss landscape inside. I love to focus on moss, it truly is a wonderland! Your photos are WONDERFUL!!!
ricki, so true...most of it around my house "disappears" for our few dry months, but that won't be happening for awhile...
Mary C, after another couple of months of rain I my be wishing the moss were just a memory.
Darla, I think Lila (my dog) must have scared them all away as there was not a trace.
Thanks Gina!
Bianca, at first I read your "little folk" as "little fork" that was funny image!
Les, I've always wanted to live in a stucco home, since it (for me) symbolizes the Southwest. I could even put up with white in that case!
DD, yay! NM moss...I had no idea.
Matti, I love that you are transplanting moss! Sometimes when walking Lila I'll spot a big chunk that squirrels knocked off a fence or tree...of course I have to pick it up and bring it home.
Lauren, how fun! (your Naturescope)
Grace, oh god...if I had Barbies that would make a fun picture!
I love moss and the way you captured these miniature natural gardens. We have such a lot of shade in the front garden that we have decided to remove the remaining grass and embrace the moss in our front garden by creating a shade garden to highlight it.
Me too! And what a good thing, because we live in moss country!

I enjoy the few days our moss is green and happy here; what great closeups to show it's other-worldly setting.

Ahh, such lovely shades of green! Those photos make me want to lie down and sleep on those lovely beds of moss. (But maybe with rain gear on...)

Can't have moss in Phoenix. Although I have been tempted to try a terrarium. Love moss.
