This photo (taken by Beth Nakamura) appeared in Friday’s Oregonian (our local newspaper). I immediately started thinking of alternate captions, including the one I used as the title of this post. Or maybe something like: “Ralph, you know people actually pay money for these things, and they put them in their yards!”But I know one of you can do better. Come on….give it a try. In case you are interested the actual caption reads “Dave Driver (right) shows his friend Jerry Stevens, both of Gates, a view of Lake Mead in Arizona on a poster. Driver recently took a road trip to the lake in his RV.”
And the title is “RV show comes to town” … did you notice the small potted plants tucked in the gravel along the bottom of the poster? I bet at least one of them is a fake Agave. Nice touch.
Wonder whats in the bag ? Was he out walking his dog or something ?

"Back when I was a young whipper-snapper I used to climb them thar cactuses to get away from the snakes."
ReplyDeleteIt looks to me like a bag of ice,
ReplyDeleteso I'd say the new caption could read,
" And that, Bob (pointing to the cactus), is why the ice is melting!"
David
"Bob, when I wuz jest a kid, we useter use cactuses like them fer tooth picks."
ReplyDelete"I say we set up the Margarita bar right there"
