Occasionally IKEA has a great plant deal that is too good to pass up. Last year around Christmas I bought two Bromeliads for under $10, and they always have succulents for bargain basement prices.
I was intrigued when I saw this Coconut Palm or
Cocos nucifera; I’ve never seen a palm growing like this! And I couldn’t believe it when I saw the price…$89.99! At IKEA! Goodness gracious
OMG $89! That;s high, even by the standards of my astronomical plant price island. Actually for $200 you can get a 10 foot tall coconut palm.
ReplyDeleteHi DG~~ Wowzers! Is it planted in gold dust? Is the container an excavation from deep inside the pyramids? [Okay, a little extreme.LOL] Still, it's a bit of a stretch to find a justification for the cost. Maybe they'll come on sale soon, fingers crossed.
ReplyDeleteYou are right!... that's very expensive! And over here, it's just a normal coconut tree ;-)
ReplyDeleteWHAT? Craziness. I only half trust ikea plants anyway. I accidentally went to ikea this weekend. I'll just say I spent more than that, and left feeling guilty.
ReplyDeleteseems like a better option to just buy a few supermarket coconuts and see if any of them germinate.
ReplyDeleteAll, CRAZY! I am glad you agree, I wondered if someone would post and tell me I was nuts and that they normally sell for $300 and I should have paid $89 for it!
ReplyDeleteWal-Mart carries same sized cocos for $10 in California!!
