This photo could easily have been of be me, after all I have to touch all the plants—especially the sharp spiky ones.
What I am really wondering though, are those flowers impaled on the tip of the agave? Did she put them there? Or is she discovering them? It's a mystery...

It's an interesting landscape with what looks like it might be a tropical plant to the left of the massive agave. Given the purse hanging from her arm and what might be a handkerchief in her hand, I'd guess she was just wandering along and sighted the flower stuck to the agave's spine. I can almost see the wheels turning, trying to determine if the agave produces flowers but hesitant to touch the plant itself.
ReplyDeleteOh! I like that idea, wondering if the flowers came from the agave...
DeleteI think she’s holding a handkerchief because she impaled herself on those sharp points.
ReplyDeleteOh... now I want to look at the handkerchief for blood!
DeleteAs Kris wrote, interesting plants besides the quite nice Agave. Pawlonia(?) tree on the left? Yucca behind the Agave?
ReplyDeleteWe like mysteries, don't we?
Yes we do! I thought paulownia maybe too but the shape seems a little off based on the leaves my tree makes.
DeleteAround here in Phoenix, flowers get impaled all the time on tips of Agaves!
ReplyDeleteReally? Just leaves in my garden. But then I guess there aren't a lot of flowers.
DeleteI have Agaves under my Texas Olive tree and that tree bloom with white flowers all spring and summer. And then they drop!
