Originally scheduled as an in-person talk in Seattle, it's been moved to an online event, which means no matter where you are in the world you can attend! If you're a member of Northwest Hort the talk is free, the cost to join is $35, but they offer members a number of free lectures, like mine, and coming up in January: Life is Too Short for Boring Plants; The New, Rare, and Just Plain Weird from Mark Weathington, Director J C Raulston Arboretum—join here. You also get discounted pricing for other events like their amazing 2020 NHS Virtual Symposium in October (check that out here). If you want to attend my lecture as a non-member the cost is just $10 but you must register (here).
So what exactly will my talk be about? The making of my garden, with lots of "then and now" and how I got there shots. Here's a now...
And here's what I started with...
Hope to see you there! (well, you know what I mean...)

Will definitely check it out. Have been enjoying online webinars that I would never be able to attend. A small silver lining from the pandemic. Good luck and looking forward to it.
ReplyDeleteAh, thanks! I am excited you'll "be there" and look forward to hearing what you think.
DeleteYou know, I think it was a tour put on by NHS that I barged in on one summer when we vacationed near Tillamook. Lucy Hardiman's garden was included and a couple others I wanted to see. So I called and asked, and they were so nice in letting me join them even tho I wasn't a member -- so I actually owe them! So glad for these online solutions to all this distancing. Looking forward to it, Loree!
ReplyDeleteGood to hear you got to tour, Lucy's garden is legendary, and happy to hear you'll be there! Wish I could see your pretty face though...
DeleteIt signed up as a non member for $10.
ReplyDeleteI do wish it had take place in person, alas... another missed opportunity to meet you in person, curtesy of COVID. Yours will be my first attempt to join an online presentation. I'm very excited!
Augh! Thanks for mentioning that option, I spaced it an thought you had to be a member. Correction made. Happy to hear you'll be "there" and we'll meet someday...
DeleteI can't imagine azaleas in your garden...I'll check out the online talk.
ReplyDeleteWell I didn't plant them...but they were there! There were roses and daisies too...
DeleteAzaleas and roses. Pretty laughable to imagine it. You are proof that you need to be able to look beyond what is there to see if it can become a canvas for you to work on.
