Wednesday Vignette; natural green roofs

Andrew and I were out again scouting for fishing locations (for him, I was just along for the walk) when we came upon this deserted property. I saw the car first...

But then I saw the structure (was it once a house? A barn?) just beyond.

Those are pretty fabulous green roofs!

If you're wondering why I didn't get any closer there was a fence. I managed to squeeze my phone through and take these photos without dropping it on the other side!

  1. Love how Nature works to clean up human messes. The green is so vibrant. Wonder if these will still be visible in another 50 years.

    1. That's an excellent question. The thickness of the conifer needles on the car show just how "quickly" something like that could be burried.

  2. Wow, that's almost spooky! Where was this? (And no worries if you can't reveal a secret watering hole...) Love the green roofs and the car carcass.

    1. I'm not completely sure. Andrew looked at Google maps satellite and marked some likely places then we took off. I know they were all off the Fairview exit of I-84. Not sure that helps much!

  5. So impressive! I'm guessing that wouldn't happen in this climate...
