It's repeated throughout the year, such a throw-back to earlier times. Times I'm glad most (hopefully?) have left behind.

DeleteI've never seen anything like that. I'm surprised someone that concerned with individual weeds doesn't tear out the summer-dead lawn and replace it with more attractive weed-suppressing ground cover plants.

DeleteI think even people at Scott/Monsanto/Bayer would be shocked and appalled at this. Such a misapplication! The lawn does look nice though so can't argue with their results...

DeleteOh heavens. I'm speechless. But it still happens too often. They wouldn't like me for a neighbor. I don't fret about a few dandelions, violets, and other lawn flowers.

ReplyDeleteI hate it when I forget and start up that section of sidewalk with Lila. It's nearly impossible to keep her on the sidewalk, but don't want her walking through that stuff!
DeleteI'm afraid there are more people like that than all of us gardeners realize. We have neighbors with an incredible veg garden but they have a lawn service that comes and fertilizes their front lawn. Seems like two opposing concepts on one property to me.

DeleteI have a lawn service because I just don't want to mow and edge. I got the "squinty eye" when I said no weed killer or fertilizer. I'm sure they think I'm a weirdo but I don't care.
ReplyDeleteI thought perhaps a flock of seagulls had visited. So, they're putting poison on the only green things in their yard? I don't get it but then I've always been one of those mow whatever shows up kind of gardeners.
