The trouble with putting things aside to share at a later time is that the details get foggy. Case in point I'm having a hard time remembering how I came across this Peanuts book, Travels with My Cactus.
Surely you've heard of Snoopy's brother Spike? Spike lives in the desert...Needles, California to be exact.
His only friend is a cactus.
Spike decides to visit Snoopy and writes him a letter letting him know he's on the way.
There are several pages detailing their travels as Spike and his cactus make their way across the country to visit (Charlie Brown and the gang were said to live in Minneapolis). I don't want to share too much, then you'd have no reason to buy the book!
My favorite part is towards the end when Spike and his cactus friend finally arrive, with perfect timing to catch Linus out waiting for The Great Pumpkin.
Naturally Linus mistakes the cactus for The Great Pumpkin. Which reminds me, I wonder if it's too late to catch the cartoon on TV this year...
