Walking though the back garden I sometimes get a sense of déjà vu, a feeling that my ridiculously dense, tall, plantings abutting the small lawn, reminds me of something...
I finally figured out what it is!
Substitute my lawn for the tree tops, and the plants for the buildings
And my back garden is NYC! (you see it, right?...)

Totally see it! Except the vantage point in your garden would have to be the top of your roof! Also, I bet that's what those little puddles of lawn within Central Park feel like too. A room within a room, within a room - like rings of the water!

Ya, I wasn't feeling that into this crazy idea...not enough to get on the roof. I guess I could have gotten up on a ladder.
DeleteI see it too! Your garden is much more interesting but for real bagels and Broadway shows, New York has a slight edge.
ReplyDeleteHey, you haven't tried Portland's bagels have you? And Andrew can put on a hellova show...
DeleteHehe, love it. I can't imagine what NYC would be without Central Park...an urban desert most likely.
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine...
DeleteBut you get to enjoy your garden without the crowds which is critical to pleasure.
ReplyDeleteIndeed.
DeleteI do see it! Does this mean you hanker to live in the Big Apple?
ReplyDeleteNope, not at all. But it is fun to laugh at my cramscaping ways...
DeleteHi! Interesting comparison. I do get it. I've never been to Central Park (or your garden), but I do enjoy virtual visits. ;-)
ReplyDeleteIf you're in Portland...
