The Agave attenuata card was my birthday card from Andrew, I'm still quite in love with it so it's part of the table centerpiece too.
In the chartreuse vase are Crocosmia blooms and a Fatsia japonica 'Variegata' (Camouflage) leaf.
The Crocosmia flowers all opened at once, practically over night. That's unusual...
The tall white vase has a mix of things. I think it works, others might think it a little much.
I finally cut a few of my seed-grown Moluccella laevis, they smell so good! Light and a little minty, very refreshing.
A few of the Sarracenia pitchers bent and we getting caught on my shirt when I maneuvered around to water. I cut them too.
Now they're all keeping each other company...
I hope I don't regret not cutting all the Moluccella laevis. I'm not sure how they'll hold up to the heat in the driveway stock-tanks.
The back of the tall arrangement got a couple of Syneilesis aconitifolia, another one bent outside (I think the hose is to blame).
The gallery wall next to the dining table got a couple of new additions last week, ones I haven't had a chance to frame yet.
Andrew spotted these two prints when we were in Austin, TX, in May and bought them for my birthday. Ananassa sativa variegata (variegated pineapple)...
And Maranta vittata (aka Calathea elliptica).
I also scored some fabulous vintage postage stamps...

DeleteOoh, that birthday card is gorgeous. Someone knows you well. Andrew's definitely a keeper. I'm really impressed that you grew Moluccella laevis, they always look so wonderful at the store. Your table arrangement is, as always, fabulous.
ReplyDeleteI didn't think the Moluccella laevis seeds were even going to sprout but now they're looking great. Next year I will grow more!

I'll take the birthday wishes, even though I'm not Amy (and honestly you have so many people sharing their vases I don't know how you keep them straight, so I understand!).

ReplyDeleteThe gift prints appear to be pages from a book, and there is no artist listed. A Google search says: "Antique Woodblock Published 1865, London for "Beautiful Leaved Plants, Being a Description of the Most Beautiful Leaved Plants in Cultivation in this Country" by Edward Joseph Lowe. Most plates printed in colours and finished by hand"...thanks for asking and sending me searching. The card lists Sandy Hageman as the artist, and she's here in Oregon. www.passionflowerarts.com

DeleteI love the arrangement in your white vase, but you know my motto is "More is more." Mollucella is such a cool flower stalk, I should try that next year in the cutting garden. That last shot into your dining room is very nice. Simple elegance.

DeleteWonderful birthday card and nice score on the prints, though most of all I am partial to stamps! I still write letters (the old fashioned way), so when I purchase stamps online, I will occasionally gift myself a new sheet of stamps. Luckily they don't take up much space in the drawer so the hoard is hidden... Your vintage stamps are a thing of beauty!

Deletewell, I'm starting to feel like I need to grow Bells of Ireland again, I always used to have it, and it reseeded too. I think it went away in the course of one of my many renovations.That card ids definitely suitable for framing !
