Thicket has always been a super charming location, but they've doubled, if not tripled their plant selection since I last visited. More plants is always a good thing.

I always forget to visit Todd's Nursery which is near me, and has quite a large selection of plants. I went to Thicket once, but it was early in the season and they didn't have much for sale. It was pretty deserted. I should go back.

ReplyDeleteWas that a Digiplexis bloom? It's gorgeous. I remember when they were all the rage... I tried it a couple of times but it didn't return the following year. I'm sticking with old fashioned and reliable digitalis.
Yes that rectangular shape caught my eye, they were great containers. And yes, I think that was a Digiplexis bloom, it had been snapped in two (thus the odd angle) but still looked great.
DeleteOkay, this is getting weird. A few weeks after I dragged a rusted mattress spring home I see it used as in your photo and in the same fashion on the sfgirlbybay blog. I was thinking of making a light fixture but ultimately decided to chop it up into spiral components to play around with because I didn't want anything obviously mattressy. And you'll be pleased to know I stripped the rust and painted them black ;) But how weird that there's brains out there like mine...

DeleteLooks like such a fun place to explore with so many different areas and nook and crannies. Some of the containers on the high shelves caught my eye as did the absolutely gorgeous Disporum cantoniense 'Moonlight'. Ticks all the boxes for a great plant shopping destination.

DeleteA good one to add to the rotation. It looks more like you're visiting a cool garden that just happens to be a shop. So many ideas and displays such as the red bicycle which works very well there.

DeleteSo cute! It's like a Goldilock's nursery - just the right size. There was a nursery like that just down the street from our apartment in Santa Monica in the old days. It was closed when the area went through gentrification even before we moved out of the area. I miss it to this day.
