Someone left puppies on my front porch...

Okay, no, not really puppies... plants! We'd just set down to dinner when I saw a lady I didn't recognize hauling two plants up to the front porch. Before I could get to the door to talk with her, she was gone.

She left a note.

Questions! I have so many questions! Do I know her? Does she follow my blog/Instagram? Did she see the little free library in the hellstrip and think this was a good location to rehome?

I also have plant ID questions! Is this a Euphorbia mellifera, or an E. stygiana? (look at that amazing foliage!)

Neither Euphorbia is completely hardy here in Portland, and it looks like this one (whichever it is) suffered some damage at some point in the past.

This one is obviously a tree fern I'm thinking Cyathea cooperi (Sphaeropteris cooperi).

If you've got thoughts on the proper ID of either of my new puppies I'd love to hear them! And if you're the lady who decided my place was the right place to leave them, thank you!
