I just returned from a week in Philadelphia, aka America's Garden Capital. The 2023 Garden Blogger's Fling was held there and that meant four days of intense garden touring organized by Karl Gercens, garden traveler extraordinaire and conservatory manager at Longwood Gardens. Andrew and I arrived early and I spent another two days touring on my own. I'm wiped out and can't wait to tell you all about it—just as soon as I recover.
This lady enjoying a garden visit is another of the many vintage photos Andrew has given me over the years, I thought her expression adequately expressed the joy of garden touring and she would have fit right in with the GBFling crowd!

I forgot about the Fling... Kudos for not skipping a single post while spending long days touring Philadelphia gardens! You need a vacation to rest up.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to your fling reports.

I do! I seriously do not know how I blogged 5-days a week, 3x when scheduling ahead is hard enough.
DeleteWell, this postcard doesn't require any interpretation ;) I'm glad you had a good time at the Fling. Seeing the photos you and others posted on IG, I regretted that I didn't sign up to join in when I had the chance.
ReplyDeleteI wish you had Kris, you would have had a blast! Although the pace was intense.
DeleteA very long time ago, when I was 22, I spent an entire day at Longwood Gardens. It blew my mind, hoping it will again. And I'm really looking forward to your tours of some private Philly gardens as well.
ReplyDeleteGoing in knew about Chanticleer and what a magical place it is, but I was unprepared for how cool Longwood is. I regret that I didn't see a lot of what it had to offer, but what I did see was amazing.
DeleteNo one could have more regret than I that I didn't make it to this Fling. I knew it would be amazing(even with the rain) and so happy to see so many photos. Both David and I love nothing more than touring gardens. Now if only I could actually get down to sharing. Too busy reading others I guess.
ReplyDeleteOh Jenny, I really wish you could have been there, it was wonderful. Of course the rain had us "reminiscing" about touring your and Diana's gardens in Austin during that Fling and the rain. It wasn't ideal but we made the best of it.
DeleteWhat a great place for the Fling. Sounds like you really enjoyed yourself and were very busy. I can see why you need time to recover. Can hardly wait to read all about it.
ReplyDeleteHave you been to the Philly area? It was indeed a great place for the Fling, so many great gardens!
DeleteI agree with your header. It was a great Fling, and it was great to see you again. :)
ReplyDeleteIt was great to see you! I hope you enjoyed your "rebound" Fling.
