He/She came back today a few times, or maybe it was his/her friend. In any event it seems very interested in the stock tank pond. I thought it was going to land on my shoulder.
Fantastic shot! I love dragonflies. My favorites are the blues, especially the 8-spotted skimmer, but the reds add an exciting streak of color to the show. When I was in New England I took dozens of pictures of ebony jewelwings. Absolutely gorgeous.
Lots of those ginormous blue ones in my garden. They're cool and creepy at the same time. Great photo. Is this a new meme, "One word Wednesday"? I like it.
Oooh! I'd be thrilled to see a red dragonfly in my garden -- something different, exciting. (Not that dragonflies of other colors aren't exciting)
