Oh the unexpected benefits of walking a dog. She pauses, I pause.
She takes care of business I look around.
And see this…
A furry tree trunk! Seems the grass next door found a welcome spot for its tips and seedy bits to land.
I wonder what things will look like come spring?
I’ll be watching…

Too funny. Hope the tree doesn't get all embarassed and use Nair or something.
ReplyDeleteGosh they still make that stuff?
DeleteFascinating! Fungi?
ReplyDeleteDefinitely some of that too.
DeleteKind of creepy. It may be a good addition to your Halloween post next year if the hairiness continues.
ReplyDeleteJust think how crazy and out of control it could be by then!!!
DeleteOMG, that's kind of hilarious. My Mexican feather grass seeds in the strangest spots too, but I've never seen it growing horizontally out of bark.
ReplyDeleteOur neighbors have quite the hairy patch growing in the cracks of their driveway, it's bizarre looking.
DeleteThe invasion of the body snatchers has started!
ReplyDeleteOkay now I won't be able to walk by that tree in the dark anymore!!!
DeleteYou dog people have all the fun.
ReplyDeleteYou should get one.
DeleteYou have make beautiful photos!
ReplyDeleteGreetings from Holland, RW & SK
Thank you RW & SK!
DeleteIt's a testimonial to the dampness of the tree trunk this autumn. But it doesn't take much to keep that Mexican Feather Grass alive.
ReplyDeleteNo it certainly doesn't, and there was enough moss on the tree trunk to provide a great place for the roots to take hold.
