I stopped to admire the very defined growth rings on this piece of wood found river-side. It had me thinking of a highly stylized single-burner electric cook top. You know, if one just happened to be sitting along side a river. What do you see?

Pretty cool. Usually the rings aren't so predominate. Looks petrified.
ReplyDeleteThe rings look almost fossilized.
ReplyDeleteA Rorschach test in tree form?! Symmetry is common in tree rings but I can't recall seeing rings that narrow. It looks like a Zen sand garden in miniature or corrugated cardboard.
ReplyDeleteA broken LP!
ReplyDeleteCool erosion...
The opening credits for Vertigo.
ReplyDeleteCool!
I like how end cuts get "eroded" like that. I've admired them on the posts that hold the guardrails near the boys' favorite fishing hole. I can totally see the stove top likeness. For some reason, the image that instantly popped into my head was one of those green spirals you burn to keep mosquitos away. Not sure why - it looks far more like a stove top, now that you mention it.
ReplyDeleteI see something I wish I could pick up and display in my garden...
ReplyDeleteJapanese cedar (sugi) tree crop circles in the Miyazaki Prefecture of southern Japan.
ReplyDeleteI love it and I'd love it even better in my garden, too.
