I frequently walk by this vine covered fence, and first
wrote about it back in 2011. Walking by a couple of weeks ago I thought it was looking particularly fetching and snapped this photo. I'm again scheming on something similar in my garden, only with metal poles. I seem to be on a passionflower kick (8 different plants at current count, although not all are winter hardy here) and need something for them to grow on next summer...

So in love with that color... would it look as good on a less-impactful fence/arbor?

DeleteBeautiful grape! That fence intersection reminds me of one of those revolving gates that outdoor places like zoos had (have?) to control entry and exit. They used to scare me a bit when I was little...

DeleteThat is a beautiful vine, and a cool fence! Are those poles not metal? They look to me a bit like tarnished copper.

DeleteLove it! That is probably the best way to deal with one of those grapes - they are so humongous! I saw a garden last week where the owner had left a huge snag standing, and trained a red trumpet vine up it. It was massive, but unfortunately both leaves and flowers were gone. I bet in summer, it is probably spectacular - like a big, red, flowering tree!
