Someone else told me to try Hydrogen peroxide as well and that does seem to treat the infestation at the root level better than anything else, I have continued to use it for aloe plants in the house. It did not seem to harm any plants, and I could treat one area and then go on to other areas that were still having a problem. If systemics work then I say go for it! Even a little breeze spreads them!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1018965493805276234.post-37693458072920552952016-10-06T22:31:35.744-07:002016-10-06T22:31:35.744-07:00i did pull up and toss a pieris i was very fond of...i did pull up and toss a pieris i was very fond of. Beschorneria has been constantly waylaid by scale -- tossed my blooming plant this year. Ants/aphis on aloe hybrids, not so much the species. (They killed Aloe 'Kujo' last year.) Aloes planted close to brick-on-sand paths (antfarm!) are more susceptible. Mealy bugs, woolly aphis on agaves I swear is new the past couple years. Never a problem before. I think it's the warmer weather. Maybe a nice cold winter will solve your problem -- outdoors at least.Denisehttp://agrowingobsession.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1018965493805276234.post-4409388821591564592016-10-05T08:52:16.453-07:002016-10-05T08:52:16.453-07:00Yep that would have been ideal.
