Those of you who are regular readers of Kris Peterson's blog Late to the Garden Party have probably noticed her absence from the blog-o-sphere this week. I know I have. I wanted to let you all know Kris has some medical issues, she's getting great care and improving every day, but her recovery will take some time. Her husband let me know how much she enjoys and appreciates the garden blog community and the friendships that have developed, and that she will resume blogging in the future.
I know you probably want to wish Kris well, so please feel free to comment here and I'll make sure Kris sees your thoughts.

Kris, you were really missed this week. I was very worried about you, even wondering if the wind caused some kind of horrible damage there. You are such a bright spot in the gardening blog world - as you were when I met you in person at the fling. I'm firing back with all of the encouragement (as you would most definitely do) and good will that I can muster. We all look forward to hearing from you when you're up to it. Please take your time. Much love, Tracy
ReplyDeleteAwww, I don't follow that blog but will now!
ReplyDeleteI just wanted to say, thank you for being such a vital connection in the PNW garden world. For folks like me who can't get out as much as they used to (in my case, caregiving responsibilities), it means a lot to know what folks are up to in our own little corner of the world!
Thank you so much for the update, Loree. Kris, I'm thinking of you and hoping your recovery is speedy. I will definitely miss your thoughtful comments and beautiful images of your amazing garden. Thanks for your inspiration when it's so cold and dreary here and so colorful and lush in your part of the country. Peace and rest and blessings to you as you heal and recover. <3
ReplyDeleteThank you for the update. Kris is one of my favorite bloggers and a great friend. Sending her lots of love.
ReplyDeleteThank you Loree. I just saw this on Denise’s blog but my comments won’t go through on her blog. I hope she is better and back again soon.
ReplyDeleteThanks for passing on this news! I just read the same news on A Gardening Obsession. Kris, I very much hope you get well quickly! Your posts are much missed.

Oops that should’ve said A Growing Obsession by Denise
ReplyDeleteYes I did notice the emptiness that is usually filled with her beautiful garden blog. Please let Kris know a fan down a ways from her in Temecula misses her. And I will be sending love to her while she heals.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes for a speedy recovery to Kris.

Hey, Loree, thank you for this. Kris is so punctual with her responds to comments and posting, that I knew something was off by midday Friday. All those unanswered comments... This morning, I was thinking of dropping you an email to see if you knew anything. So I'm grateful of this update, and for the Aeonium photo, as it has such prominent place in Kris's garden.
ReplyDeleteHey, Kris. We often don't fully appreciate how much we rely on something till it's missing. Such a think is your garden blog, which I look forward to as soon as I get up in the morning; all the pretty flowers go very well with my first coffee of the day, especially on those gray and wet Seattle days. I'll be looking forward to you making good strides toward recovery, as soon as possible. Meanwhile, I'll settle for older IAVOM offerings to keep me going.
Get well soon! Chavli
Thank you for letting us know about Kris. Kris, please feel better soon! We miss you out here. Hopefully, you are well enough to follow along on some blogs and aren't bored silly while recuperating. Please take care.
ReplyDeleteThanks for letting us know about Kris. Wishing her a speedy recovery and a quick return to her garden, garden blog and weekly in a vase posts.
ReplyDeleteLoree, I'm sorry to hear that Kris has been laid up, but thank you for letting us know. Kris, I hope you're recovering a little more each day and will soon be back to chatting online with your friends. Take care -- we miss you!
ReplyDeleteIndeed, I noticed last Monday morning at 9:00 CST that something was amiss when there was no post to read. My concern increased on Wednesday, Friday, and again this morning. I googled to find out what was as happening, and AI led me to Loree's Saturday post. I'm praying for you, Kris, and I thank you, Loree, for letting us all know why she's been absent from her blog.
ReplyDeleteHope your recovery is speedy and you are able to enjoy the view out over your beautiful garden oasis while you are healing. Sending hugs and healing thoughts.
