An August evening and a garden party, what's not to love? Walking around the garden of Sean Hogan, taking photos before the sun went down, I stopped to look up and admire this scene. Eucalyptus, Tetrapanax and Bamboo...all glowing against a blue sky. Summer why can't you last longer???

I'd like summer a lot more if it included one night's worth of rain every week, since we're talking about impossible dreams here.
ReplyDeleteI appreciate that you specified night. Can't ruin my sunny days!
DeleteI can appreciate your desire to hold on to summer, especially after the miserable winter you had. Meanwhile, I long for our winter rains. I just checked our extended forecast and there's not a drop of rain showing through the end of October.
ReplyDeleteI don't even want to think about packing it all up for the year with the rain return. Not because I dread the work, but because I love being able to spend time outdoors...
DeleteWhy indeed?! I'm ready for sunshine and pleasant gardening weather for atleast another month.
ReplyDeleteTwo months!
DeleteWait no, three months!
DeleteI agree. I love fall, but its what comes after that I dread. Until then, happy gardening!
ReplyDeleteThanks Joanna, same to you!
DeleteI'd lay on my back all the time, if that is what I would see. Just lovely. I am, however, ready for fall. Alternately what Alison said.
ReplyDeleteI'll never be ready...
DeleteWow, that is ... spectacular! The layers of all the foliage. Re: summer, I think it depends on where you live and the weirdness of a season's weather. When I was younger, summer was always my favorite. It's still right up there, but tied for a triune with spring and autumn. Winter? Well, a little is OK, but ours simply lasts entirely too long. ;-)
ReplyDeleteIt definitely depends on where you live, you're right about that.
DeleteI could spend all day in that garden. Several days, in fact. Sorry, but you know I'm ready for cooler temperatures and rain, especially to help put out all the forest fires in the region.
